Hi,

My name is Niki Terry. I have been playing golf for approximately 14 years. My career as a golfer started when my grandparents told my siblings and I that we were being “too loud” and we were forced to hit a bucket of shag balls out in the pasture, aiming for the cows.

I started competitive play in the 7th grade at the age of 12. When I went to high school, I made the varsity team my freshman year. During this time, I was playing basketball and golf at the same time. I soon learned I was better at golf, and decided to focus only on that. I played all 4 years, and in the middle of my senior year, I signed my letter of intent to the Angelo State University Women’s golf team.

Throughout my career at Angelo State, I played in many different tournaments throughout the country, including Oklahoma and Arizona. I had two top 20 placements, and one top 10. I graduated from ASU in May of 2021 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice.

Since my senior year in high school, I have been giving golf lessons every summer. This included ages anywhere from 6-60 years old, men and women. I believe a golf swing is particular to each person, and not always a technical, textbook swing. In fact, my own golf swing is all about “feel”.

I now work for the State of Texas and the 33rd/424th Judicial District as a full-time probation officer. I play golf at least once a week, as it is still my favorite hobby and pass time. I am a regular player at Delaware Springs golf course in Burnet, Texas, and have recently become a member at Mulligan’s indoor golf in Bertram, Texas. I also enjoy fishing and hunting, and pretty much anything that involves the outdoors.
